XV Course-Workshop on Health Legislation: Regulatory Framework for the Extension of Social Protection in Health: 1-5 September, 2008 in Mexico City. The course is a joint initiative of the Inter-American Center for Social Security Studies (CIESS) and PAHO/WHO and its main objectives are to analyze the capacity of the current regulatory frameworks for the extension of social protection in health; investigate the mechanisms to improve the effectiveness of the regulation in a complex scenario of multiple actors, interests, and levels; and develop parameters to guide future regulatory processes as part of intersectoral and interinstitutional actions.  |

Virtual Campus of Public Health: was created within the context of the "Public Health in the Americas" Initiative as a response to the need for strengthening institutional capacities and the competences of health workers responsible for performing the essential public health functions in the countries of the Region. The courses offered by the Campus are defined according to the political orientations, mandates, and strategic objectives of the Pan American Health Organization established by its Member States, such as the Health Agenda for the Americas 2008–2017.  |
