Haiti (Strategic Plan for Health Sector Reform – March 2004)
The National Health Policy, published in 1996 and revised in 1999, constitutes an important framework for the implementation of interventions in the health sector in Haiti. The Policy is based on the values of equity, solidarity and social justice, and its goal is to improve, in a sustainable manner, the health of the population through a comprehensive approach that favors quality. The Policy aims at the reduction of morbidity and mortality, health prevention and promotion, and efficient management of resources.
